January 5, 2007 -- And we´re off!!!!

Our trip started out VERY early. The cab picked Mark and I up at 5:30am, then we had to wait around the airport before we left to Miami. In Miami we had a 3 hour layover where we basically found our terminal and hit the bar near by and started to drink... Boy I needed that, too much other stuff going on in my life, I just wanted to get started on this vacation. I was so nervous and terrified about about what was going to happen during this trip.

We finally got on the plane to Quito. WOW... we got served food... if that´s what you want to call it, i had bad heartburn from it. We got to Quito pretty much on time and my cousin Cris and her husband were there to greet us. We packed there car up with our luggage and we were off to her mom´s house. It has been so long since I´ve been here, I was VERY nervous. Of coarse, as we get there, we are greeted with hugs and kisses and FOOD. We sat and talked for a bit and then turned in, the travel burnt us out. Did i mention it was past 8pm when we got here (they are 1 hour ahead of chicago time... ) you do the math on the travel time. We were told to get some rest because Cris and her husband had a full day planned for us on Saturday.

Oh, and i forgot to mention... Quito stands at about 9000 feet above sea level... OMG, talk about breathing problems... it´s sure been a thrill...
